Rules, Rates and Requests

(Updated December 2005 / Reviewed October 2008)

Campers are accepted by reservation only through the Camp Needmore Board caretaker, Keith Larson. Reservations may be made by writing to Keith at PO Box 475, Ekalaka, MT 59324, by calling (406) 775-6273, on the Camp website, www.campneedmore.org, or by emailing to <keith@campneedmore.org> If you call and Keith is not at home, please leave a message and he will get back to you to finalize your reservation.

No public dances will be held at the camp. However, dances held in connection to reunions, anniversaries and weddings are permissible. If you do plan to schedule a dance with your reservation, please indicate that to Keith.

A deposit of $80.00 should be sent to Keith in February of the year in which you have reserved the camp. This deposit fee is not returned unless the camp has been cleaned and all garbage is properly removed and disposed of. We emphasize the importance of keeping the camp clean. Any damage or destruction to the camp may result in losing the privilege of future reservations or use of the camp.

Lost or stolen private property is the responsibility of the individual group. The Camp Needmore Board will not assume any responsibility.

Groups such as reunions, religious, you or education, etc., will be charged the $6.00 per person per day fee. If people attend and utilize the facilities during the day, or any portion of that day, that person is required to pay the $6.00 fee, the same as if he/she were staying overnight. Another example is if a person comes to the camp on the afternoon of one day and stays overnight and leaves the next day, he/she owes $12.00.

The Board requires that any individual or group using the camp on Saturday (or any portion of a Saturday) pay a minimum fee of $150.00 or $6.00 per person; whichever is more.

Any individual 8 years old or older is required to pay the $6.00 per person per day fee.

The camp can be used for an afternoon gathering (with the exception of Saturday afternoon) at the rate of $50.00.

Functions that last through an afternoon and evening not accompanied by overnight stays will be $75.00.

There will be no charge for funerals at camp.

Trailer hookups with electricity are available at the camp. The cost of hookup will be $10.00 per day. This hookup fee is in addition to the $6.00 per person per day fee, which is also required.

The group involved pays for any damage or destruction to the camp WILL.

GENERAL RULES TO FOLLOW:

  1. Carry all your equipment to the barracks-do not drive them in.

  2. Familiarize everyone with the buildings. Hold fire drills and acquaint all individuals to escape routes before using the camp the first evening.

  3. No fires outside allowed except in the ready-made fire pit. Be sure to replace the lid on the pit after each use. Be mindful of any fire restrictions set forth by the Carter County Fire warden and Carter County Commissioners. A phone call to the Sheriff’s Office will answer this question, (406) 775-6273.

  4. When using the fireplace, be sure to open the damper in the chimney enough to permit smoke to go up the chimney. Use the fire screen at all times. Do not leave a fire in the chimney unattended. Do not burn anything in the fireplace other than logs and paper. Cans and other materials should be disposed of in the regular household garbage.

  5. Do not drive nails in the walls. Do not paint the walls.

  6. Do not cut trees or shrubbery anywhere without US Forest Service permit.

  7. Do not drive up around the cabin area. Carry your baggage from the parking area to the cabins.

  8. Garbage disposal is the responsibility of the people renting the camping facility. All garbage or refuse on the premises must be removed when your group function is concluded. If you need to make arrangements for your garbage, please contact the City Clerk at (406) 775-8731.

  9. Any problems with the cook stoves, cooler, and other appliances should be reported to the Camp Caretaker immediately so the necessary repairs can be made.

  10. The kitchen area and mess hall must be mopped and scrubbed. Sweeping compound is provided in the mess hall. The cooler should be left turned on and scrubbed out, taking care to wipe off the shelves, etc.

  11. The barracks must all be swept, and all garbage and personal belongings cleared out. Again, the Camp Needmore Board will not be responsible for any lost or stolen articles; it is the campers’ responsibility to care for his/her own personal belongings.

  12. Upon leaving the camp, close all doors and windows, make sure all the bathrooms are cleaned, toilets and sinks checked for any running water, lights shut of, turn out the cat and have a safe trip home.

  13. Fees must be paid when checking out of the camp. A register listing all individuals including addresses of those attending the camp must accompany the fees. We need this documentation for future leasing of the camp and facilities. The $80 can be deducted if the camp is left in good order.

Think…please leave this camp as you would like to find it when you check in. We do appreciate your participation and welcome you back anytime. Several individuals have donated various items to the camp such as dishes, utensils, etc. Please leave those items for others to use. Should you find any damages upon opening the camp, please do not hesitate to report them to Mr. Larson. We appreciate everyone’s efforts in keeping the camp clean, neat and usable. If anyone is interested in making donations to the camp, please contact Mr. Larson.
